Fitness Center Addition

Project consisted of constructing a 2-story addition, including a partial basement level and ground floor to expand the existing fitness center located near the Johnson Gym on the northwest side of the existing complex. Each level was approximately 3,300 square feet.  Construction included masonry walls with brick veneer and precast exterior panels. Floor was constructed with precast hollow core planks with poured concrete topping, supported by bearing walls and steel beams and columns.  Roof structure was a steel joists and deck, with modified bitumen membrane.  The HVAC work included replacing an existing air handler with a larger capacity unit and replacing and expanding supply duct work and installing new return duct work for the replaced unit.
