Central City High School Bison Activity Dome

This project consisted of a new addition to the Central City Public Schools High School. The new addition consisted of a 175’ diameter 46’ tall, dual use FEMA dome and competition sized gymnasium, the first of its kind in Nebraska while also allowing CCPS to now hold district meets they couldn’t handle previously! Included in the space are both male and female locker rooms, training rooms, a special suite room on the main floor, reserved for special guests and donors, IT/Sound room and an upper-level walking track for a total SF of 34,663, supporting roughly 2,100 spectators during sporting events and 2,800 during severe weather.

The building was constructed using an ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) exterior as an alternate to CMU with a brick veneer and metal panels. The 1st floor interior walls were constructed using CMU while the 2nd level floors utilized metal studs and drywall.
